Subscription & Pause Policy

Cuemath's subscription-led learning journey is built around fixed schedules, the same tutor, and a steady weekly rhythm that delivers stronger outcomes. Here's everything you need to know as a parent.

Plans at a glance

Your subscription starts from the first scheduled class. Each plan is built around a standard 2-classes-per-week (CPW) cadence.

Plan Total classes Tenure Pause quota (25%) Carry-forward (25%)
Monthly8 classes4 weeks2 pausesup to 2 classes
3 months26 classes13 weeks7 pausesup to 7 classes
6 months52 classes26 weeks13 pausesup to 13 classes

How pauses work

Pause exists for genuine misses — not as a workaround for irregular learning.

What you get

  • A pause quota equal to 25% of your total classes
  • Apply pauses straight from the Cuemath app, up to 5 minutes before the scheduled class
  • Each pause deducts one class from your quota
  • Once the quota is used, you can still reschedule existing classes within the tenure

What to remember

  • Parent pauses do not extend your subscription tenure
  • A student no-show (not joined within 10 mins) lapses the class — pause can't be applied retroactively
  • Paused classes still count under the 25% carry-forward limit
  • Anything beyond the carry-forward limit lapses at renewal

Cancelling a pause

When you cancel the pause What happens
More than 24 hours before classAutomatically restored. No tutor approval needed.
Between 24 hours and 15 minutes before classGoes to your tutor for approval based on their availability.
Within 15 minutes of class timePause cancellation is not possible.

When a pause is validly cancelled, the pause unit is restored to your quota.

Carry-forward of unused classes

Up to 25% of unused classes can move into the next cycle. Anything beyond that lapses at the end of your tenure.

Example: Your child is enrolled in a 6-month plan (52 classes) and completes 26 by the due date. Up to 13 unused classes (25% of 52) can carry forward into the next cycle — the remaining 13 lapse. Carry-forward exists for genuine misses, not as a way to delay learning.

Cancellation, expiry & refunds

Clear rules for when life changes.

Cancellation & grace period

  • You can cancel anytime from the subscription management section in the app.
  • Already-paid classes stay available until your current tenure ends.
  • After tenure ends, a 14-day grace period lets you reactivate. Balances are held but no new classes can be scheduled during grace.
  • If you don't reactivate within 14 days, the subscription expires and the remaining balance lapses.

Refunds

  • Refunds are allowed only within policy conditions and only after cancellation has been initiated.
  • Raise the request through the support journey before your original tenure end date.
  • Carry-forward classes and no-show classes are not refundable. Class rewards are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Once a refund is processed, the remaining balance lapses and the subscription moves to expired.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions parents ask most.

Why is Cuemath moving to a subscription model?
Strong outcomes come from consistency — regular classes, the same tutor, and a clear weekly rhythm. The subscription model is designed to support that: fixed schedules, stronger tutor ownership, and visible progress every month. In simple terms, students need at least 8 meaningful learning interactions every 4 weeks to stay on track.
When does my subscription start?
Your subscription starts from your child's first scheduled class — that's the real beginning of the learning journey. The tenure is then tracked in weeks based on your plan's class entitlement. For a standard 2-classes-per-week plan: monthly = 4 weeks, 3-month = 13 weeks, 6-month = 26 weeks, 12-month = 52 weeks.
What's the difference between a parent pause and a tutor pause?
A parent pause is managed within your subscription and does not extend your tenure. A tutor pause (when your tutor is unavailable) automatically extends your tenure so your child doesn't lose learning time. Tenure can also be extended for tutor transfers or certain platform-side adjustments.
What happens if my child doesn't join the class on time?
If your child doesn't join within 10 minutes of the scheduled start, the class is marked as a no-show and lapses. A pause cannot be applied retroactively, and the class is not eligible for reschedule or compensation. We strongly recommend using the in-app pause feature in advance whenever you anticipate missing a class.
Can I reschedule a class?
Yes — you can reschedule any scheduled class any number of times through the Cuemath app, subject to tutor availability. The only condition is that the rescheduled class must fall within your current subscription tenure — classes cannot be moved beyond the tenure end date.
What if I can't commit to a fixed weekly schedule?
A fixed schedule is central to consistent learning — and ~80% of students are already on a recurring 2-classes-per-week rhythm. If you have constraints, talk to your tutor: they can help find recurring slots that work for your family. The goal isn't to push you; it's to lock in a rhythm that helps your child make steady progress.
Where can I get more help?
For anything beyond what's covered here, you can reach the Cuemath customer support team at customercare@cuemath.com, through the Cuemath app's help section, or by speaking with your child's tutor. Official policy communication has also been sent directly to your registered email.
